In other business, Whitehall High School Principal Christopher Schiffert introduced the district’s new school resources officer. Whitehall Township Police Officer Matt Christman has assumed this role, taking over for Officer Richard Hope, who recently retired.
Christman told the board about his background including nine years working for the township as a part of the patrol.
“I’m looking forward to working with the students and providing the safety and protection they need, but I’m also looking forward to being a mentor and a positive influence,” Christman said.
Corby spoke about the relationship between the township’s police department and the district.
“The relationship with the Whitehall Township Police Department is incredible,” he said. “They’ve always been there for us.”
