Lehigh Valley seniors and their families are invited to learn how they can make their homes more livable for older adults at a special AARP Aging in Place Summit scheduled 9:30 a.m. Oct. 17 at the Holiday Inn Center City, 904 W. Hamilton Street, Allentown.

The event is free.

Local experts from the Lehigh, Carbon and Northampton County Area Agencies on Aging will join with certified aging in place specialists and occupational therapists to discuss available resources and specific ways they can make their homes more livable as they age.

The program was created by AARP to help older adults and their families be proactive in planning for their future needs.

At the event, attendees can also discuss their specific needs with exhibitors including: Alzheimer’s Association, ITN Lehigh Valley, Lehigh Valley Adult Services, Lehigh Valley Aging in Place Coalition, Senior Corps RSVP, United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley and Westminster Village Adult Day Services.

The event includes refreshments and course materials.
