Heidelberg Church having Oct. 11 raffle drawing
All are welcome! On Oct. 11, Heidelberg Union Church, 5187 Irvin Road, will have its annual confirmation reunion service 11 a.m. Those confirmed 50 years or more from the church will be honored.
Heidelberg Concert Handbells will also be participating.
A luncheon will follow the service.

Well worth it! As a fundraiser for Heidelberg Union Church’s 275th anniversary celebration this year, the church is having a raffle drawing with 18 prizes on the ticket.
In addition to the first prize being a gorgeous fishbone quilt, there are gift certificates and gift cards from local businesses.
The raffle drawing will be Oct. 11 following the confirmation reunion dinner.

Calling all retirees! Heidelberg Association for Retired Persons, better known as H.A.R.P. will be taking a day trip Oct. 12 to the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway in Jim Thorpe to ride the train and to view the fall foliage.
Following the train ride, this active group of retirees will stop at a nearby eatery and enjoy a little lunch.
Those interested in going along should meet in Heidelberg Church’s parking lot 10 a.m. to car pool.

Joyful giving! Donations of any kind of baked goods made with apples for the Allentown Soup Kitchen may be dropped off from 6-7 p.m. Oct. 12 in Heidelberg Church’s Fellowship Hall.
According to Assistant Coordinator Linda Hausamann, 145 hot meals were served recently to the hungry and homeless at the Allentown Soup Kitchen.
The meal consisted of roast beef, mashed potatoes, tossed salad, pears, rolls and desserts.
Special thanks to the volunteers of the day: Pastor David Hess, Arlan Hill, Eleanor and Ron Klevenhagen, Shirley Boger, Linda Hausamann and Howard Truitt.

Public is invited! As part of Heidelberg Union Church’s 275th anniversary celebration, a Trunk or Treat Night will take place 6-6:30 p.m. Oct. 23 in the parking lot.
For those who are curious, trunk or treat is trick or treating from parked car to parked car.
Food will be available for purchase 5-8 p.m. in fellowship hall.
For entertainment, songster Jack Snyder and Friends will be singing from 6-8 p.m. in the sanctuary.
