Allentown

The Greater Allentown Crop Hunger Walk will be held at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 11 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 140 S. Ott St., Allentown.

Registration begins at 12:45 p.m.

Twenty-five percent of the funds raised will benefit local hunger relief efforts including the Allentown Area Ecumenical Food Bank and the Lehigh Conference of Churches soup kitchen.

The remaining funds are used in the U.S. and worldwide for disaster relief (e.g., for communities devastated by floods and earthquakes) and development assistance (e.g., assisting poor families with seeds, tools, and irrigation).
