Ontelaunee Park items dominated the Lynn Township supervisors Sept. 10 meeting.

The site for the playground, which has been marked off, was moved slightly to accommodate the driveway.

Township Secretary Kathy Hermany reported on the mulch acquisition.

The board decided to go with Green Acres proposal of $438.30 per ton for 11 tons.

There is a fee of $99 to deliver the mulch.

Roadmaster Bruce Raber will look into having township crews pick up the mulch.

Three proposals were received for re-bar to anchor landscape ties. A.J. Henry of Neffs received the nod for its bid of $1,101.

Supervisor Chairman Justin Smith wants a long-range plan for paving the park to help with budgeting each year.

Smith also is waiting for the time when the park will be self-sustaining financially.

Concert dates for 2016 are being investigated.

New Tripoli and Lynn port fire companies will serve the food and refreshments.

Pioneer Days will take place Oct. 3 at the park.

MKSD Architects is expected to have plans for remodeling the township building to house the Cetronia Ambulance service.

A company represeentative will be asked to attend the board’s regular October meeting.

The agenda included the New Tripoli Fire Company’s land development plan.

Supervisors recommended approval, the granting of three waivers and allowed the fire company to proceed to final plan.

Ontelaunee Apartments was given final plan approval conditional upon meeting requirements of the township engineer’s letter.

The planning module also was approved.

The Susan Schall plan was granted a one-year extension until Sept. 16, 2016.

Supervisors also approved a resolution giving the board authority to sell unwanted township equipment if the price does not exceed $1,000.

Chief Clark Mantz gave the Lynnport Fire Company report.

He noted firefighters received four calls since the last meeting.

The fire company’s turkey raffle will be Nov. 20. The 2000 Club starts in January 2016.

Chief Peter Christ reported that New Tripoli Fire Company had received 101 calls so far this year.

Emergency Medical classes will be offered Jan. 18, 2016 to March 16, 2016.

Fire police were given permission by the board to assist at Valley Preferred Cycling Center, Trexlertown.

Roadmaster Bruce Raber reported the crew was doing weed whacking, sign replacement and repairing, shoulder mowing, spot paving and cleaning out storm water boxes last month.

The crew also found time to take the trailer with the cans to the recycling center.

Raber asked the board about continuing this service as there were quite a few instances of non-can garbage being thrown in the trailer.

He said it takes about three hours to get the cans to the recycling center and back.

If there is too much unwanted material in the trailer, the recycling center could refuse to accept the load.

After some discussion, Supervisor Brian Dietrich made a motion to move the trailer to the transfer station.

Raber also reported the road crew will be fixing the salt shed and enclosing the sides of the fuel tank. A total of $1,340 is estimated to be expended for the materials.

He also made mention about the poor lighting at the salt shed and asked if more lighting could be installed in this area. This request will be explored.

Trick-or Treat Night will be 6-8 p.m. Oct. 31.
