4-H

Lehigh County 4-H Equine Club is a group of 8- to 18-year-olds who share an interest in horses.

The Equine Club is open to anyone; owning a horse is not a required.

The purpose of this club is to unite horse lovers, to broaden their knowledge on equine animals and to develop life skills such as teamwork.

This club meets on the second Monday of every month. Each member of the club must complete a project each year. A project can be creating a poster or display for The Great Allentown Fair on an equine subject. Members with horses can do a project by caring for, training and competing with their horses in the Lehigh County 4-H Roundup.

Club members often take field trips to equine-related places, such as the Bethlehem and Pennsylvania State Mounted Police stables.

Club members also participate in various community service activities, such as St. Jude Trail Ride, Toys for Tots and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia toy drive and fundraisers to support the club.

Anyone with an interest in horses is encouraged to join the Lehigh County 4-H Equine Club.

For more information, contact Jo Lee Muller, club leader, at 610-509-9991.
