Calling all girls! On Sept. 28, Heidelberg Church’s Women of Faith group will meet at 7 p.m. in fellowship hall to begin making gift items for homebound and personal care residents in the area.

Help of all kinds is appreciated and welcomed. You do not need to have any special talent to help with these handmade crafts.

Bring a friend or two and come out for an evening of fun, fellowship and refreshments.

Spread the word! As a fundraiser for Heidelberg Union Church’s 275th anniversary celebration this year, the church is having a raffle drawing with 18 prizes included on the ticket.

In addition to the first prize being a lovely fishbone quilt, there are gift certificates and gift cards from local businesses.

The raffle drawing will be Oct. 11 following the confirmation reunion dinner in fellowship hall.

The more the merrier! Heidelberg Association for Retired Persons, better known as H.A.R.P., will be taking a road trip Oct. 12 to the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway in Jim Thorpe to ride the train and to see the fall foliage.

Following the train ride, this busy bunch of retirees will stop at a nearby restaurant and enjoy some lunch.

Those interested in going along should meet in Heidelberg Church’s parking lot 10 a.m. to car pool.
