LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Day to have open house

As a way for residents to better acquaint themselves with the services provided by state Rep. Gary Day, R-187, and his legislative office, he will have an open house from 6-9 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Trexlertown Fire Company, 7723 Hamilton Blvd., Trexlertown.

The event will include a legislative update from Harrisburg and will give guests a chance to interact individually with Day and his legislative team.

Attendees can also learn more about what his office can do, including help with sorting through state government red tape, forms and applications for state programs and referrals to state agencies.

Complimentary light meal will be available.

Residents should RSVP to Day’s office as soon as possible by calling 610-760-7082.

As a result of legislative reapportionment taking effect in late 2014, the 187th District now serves all of Upper Macungie Township, Weisenberg, Lowhill, North Whitehall, Lynn and Heidelberg townships in Lehigh County.

The Berks County portion includes Lyons and Kutztown, along with Maxatawny Township.

Day also reminds seniors living in North Whitehall Township about North Whitehall Senior Fun Day, set for 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sept. 17 at the Schnecksville Fire Company Social Hall. Day and his staff will be able to meet with residents and help with any state-related questions or concerns.

North Whitehall seniors should call 610-799-3411 to register.
