Gockley, Steckel, Zephyr and the middle school will have red, white and blue day tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 11 to show their patriotic pride. Everyone is encouraged to wear an item of clothing in those colors.

Gockley’s Meet Your Teacher Night is scheduled for tonight, Thursday, Sept. 10. Parents are encouraged to attend this informative event. Children should not accompany their parents. This evening’s presentation is solely for the parents.

The school will be open at 6:30 p.m. Each classroom teacher will begin promptly at 6:40 p.m. with a 20-minute presentation to parents about the curriculum and classroom.

A fall book fair at Zephyr Elementary will be Sept. 8-11. Students brought home a flier with a sample of the selections that will be available.

The middle school PTO’s book fair is scheduled for Sept. 14-18.

Meet the Teacher Night at the middle school is scheduled 6:30-8:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 17.

An optional breakfast program is being offered this year, beginning Monday, Oct. 5. Students will have the opportunity to purchase a cold breakfast before the school day begins. Students arriving after 8:45 a.m. will not be able to purchase a breakfast due to limited time. Please watch for more details that will be sent home with your child.

The Whitehall-Coplay Parent Teacher Organization is newly reorganized this year and will continue to provide numerous educational and cultural programs for the students. Many of their special events could not occur without the assistance and financial support of this organization. The PTO covers students in grades K through 12. During the upcoming weeks, parents will receive information about becoming a member. There are no commitments when you enroll, but volunteer opportunities are available.
