Residents air grievances about proposed two-lot subdivision
Residents continued to air their grievances regarding the proposed two-lot subdivision on Mill Road, owned by the Kohler family at the Sept. 3 supervisors meeting.
Kay Builders president Rick Koze is scheduled to present two sketch plans to the board of supervisors Sept. 17.
Residents have expressed concerns regarding increased traffic in the area, as well as the increased strain on school resources, public works and general safety.
The preliminary proposal for the subdivision would include nearly 200 residents. The area is currently zoned for recreational use.
Developers of the Indian Creek Lot Consolidation and the Fields at Indian Creek Major Subdivision have requested an extension for project completion. The former timetable for both projects was set to expire Sept. 30; the board of supervisors passed a motion extending the project deadline until Nov. 30.
The Ladies’ Auxiliary of Upper Milford Eastern Fire District Company requested assistance from Citizen’s Fire Company #28’s fire police for traffic control and pedestrian assistance during an upcoming event, which was approved by the board of supervisors.
The fourth annual fire prevention open house and craft show will be held 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 10 and feature more than 30 vendors including baked goods, refreshments and a raffle.
The fire company steering committee will hold an informational meeting in the township auditorium 7 p.m. Sept. 14. The meeting will include both Upper Milford fire departments to discuss fire-related ordinances.
“Basically it’s for the public to see how the fire department and the steering committee works and how it’s going to benefit them long term,” Supervisor Robert Sentner said.
“This is very much a public meeting and the public is encouraged to attend,” Supervisor George DeVault added.
Tim Haas, assistant manager of the steering committee, delivered the August call report for both fire departments. Station #19, which covers the western district of Upper Milford, received no emergency calls. Station #28 received 11 emergency calls this past month, although three of the calls were cancelled.
