Donald M. Cole
Donald M. Cole, 87, of Bethlehem, Hanover Township, formerly of Skytop Court, Orefield, died Sept 7, 2015, in ManorCare Health Services II, Westgate, Bethlehem.
He was the husband of Ellen I. (Ruch) Cole.
Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Stanley Cole, and Carolyn (Reinhard) Knepper.
He was a layout operator for the former Western Electric Corp., later AT&T, and Lucent Technologies, Allentown, for 37 years, before retiring in 1987.
He was a member of Nativity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Allentown.
An avid fisherman, he was a member of Ranger Lake Rod and Gun Club, Coplay.
He enjoyed Penn State Football, and attending his grandchildren’s activities and events.
He was a former member of St. John’s UCC, Howertown, serving on church council, and was a member of Greenwood Cemetery, Howertown, Board of Directors.
He was a longtime member of Telephone Pioneers of America.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Lynn, wife of Theodore Lopsonzski of Orefield, Tippi, wife of Thomas Williams of Bethlehem, Carol Zambelli of Long Island, N.Y.; son Donald M., Jr. and wife, Kimberly, of Orefield; six grandchildren Kelli, wife of Sen. Jake Corman, Thomas and wife, Julie Williams, Casey and wife, Kristin Williams, Michael Zambelli, Cocca, wife of Richard McGuire, and KaeDee, wife of Dr. Thomas Nowakowski; and nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a grandson Donald Z. Cole.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Sept. 11 at Nativity Lutheran Church, 4004 W. Tilghman St., Allentown.
Call 10-11 a.m. Friday in church. Interment will be private.
