Lower Macungie Township Historical Society president Sarajane Williams and her brother, Stephen Rauch, will present an illustrated talk about their recently published book 7 p.m. at the Macungie Institute, 510 East Main St., Macungie. Macungie Historical Society is co-sponsoring the event. “Rauch, Handwerk & Co., Builders, Jordan, PA: A Family’s Contribution to Early Transportation and Commerce,” tells of generations of a family that made carriages and wagons and sold equipment to area farmers. Refreshments will be served after the meeting and books will be available for sale.

International Talk Like a Pirate Day, Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor, 2750 Hugh Moore Park Road, Easton. The Josiah White II canal boat and her merry crew will sail the waters of the Lehigh Canal in search of the ghosts of William Kidd, Blackbeard and Annie Bonnie. Lehigh Valley Health Network will celebrate Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month with a special screening of the award-winning film “N.E.D. (No Evidence of Disease) The Movie.” The event is free and open to the public. The screening will take place 6 p.m. in the Kasych Family Pavilion Education Conference Center 6, 7 and 8 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Salisbury Township. Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Walk 4 p.m. at The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley. Light The Night Walk is a fundraising campaign of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society which brings together families and communities to honor blood cancer survivors, as well as those lost to the diseases and shine a light on the importance of finding cures and providing access to treatments for blood cancer patients. Friends, families and co-workers form fundraising teams and millions of consumers help by donating at retail outlets. These efforts culminate in inspirational, memorable evening walks in nearly 200 communities across North America each fall.

Lehigh Valley Heart and Stroke Walk, 8:30 a.m. registration; 9 a.m. run start; 10 a.m. walk at Northampton Community College, 3835 Green Pond Road, Bethlehem.
