SALISBURY PLANNING COMMISSION

The Salisbury Planning Commission has approved two and tabled one preliminary-final minor subdivisions.

Approved by a 5-0 vote with two planners absent at the Aug. 11 meeting, was a portion of land from 2120 W. Mosser St. conveyed to 2110 W. Moser St., to allow access to an existing garage. The approval included three separate 5-0 votes to grant waivers for not having to show existing contour lines and slope shading on the plan and for a requirement for paving at a cul de sac.

Salisbury Township Consulting Engineer David J. Tettemer recommended approval if the waivers were granted.

Concerning the cul de sac, Salisbury Township Director of Planning and Zoning Cynthia Sopka said the two township fire chiefs reviewed the plan and stated, “There are no concerns that need to be addressed.”

Sopka also said it is “the position of residents that there are no problems with the ability to turn around.” Tettemer said, “There is enough room that something could be constructed and it would be public.”

Tettemer also recommended approval for 1211 Salisbury Road. Waivers for the plan were approved at the July 14 planners’ meeting. A $1,500 recreation fee must be paid since a lot is being created.

Tabled by a 5-0 vote was 2214, 2216 N. Melrose Lane, for which Tettemer’s Aug. 5 review letter included six comments, including no engineering objection to variances for having to depict on the plan contour lines and slope shading within 100 feet. Tettemer said Lot 15 is 4.64 acres. Developer Myron Haydt said this could be changed to five acres. “I think they can address all the comments. It hasn’t had a full review,” Tettemer said. “What they’re proposing would meet the requirements.”

The planning commission meets 7:30 p.m. Sept. 8 in the township municipal building.
