The Lehigh County Historical Society will present a program about the history of Hess’s Department Store 6 to 7 p.m. Sept. 9 at the Lower Macungie Township Public Library.

Open from 1897 to 1996, the store was well-known for its signature strawberry pie, crystal chandeliers and fashions modeled in the Patio restaurant.
