A fond farewell and a hearty welcome

There were mixed emotions at the Aug. 19 Salisbury Township School District board meeting as the board and audience gave a fond farewell to two retiring employees and a special welcome to new staff and administrators.

Robert J. Cassidy, retiring principal at Salisbury Middle School, was recognized for his 19 years of service to the district.

“Thank you for everything you have done,” Board President Russell Giordano said. “Everyone loves the middle school.”

“You have created a warm, wonderful culture at the middle school,” Superintendent Dr. Randy Ziegenfuss said.

Also recognized was Barbara M. Brobst, retiring cafeteria worker at Western Salisbury Elementary School after 12 and 1/2 years of service.

The board also approved a number of resignations, appointments, new hires and transfers.

Resignations

Allison Lipson as a part-time ESL teacher at Harry S Truman Elementary School.

Emily Lydon as a part-time one-to-one instructional assistant at Salisbury Middle School.

Lisa Dupre as a part-time one-to-one instructional assistant at SMS.

Casey Ritter as a part-time one-to-one instructional assistant at SMS and WSE.

AnnMarie Ross as a part-time one-to-one instructional assistant at SMS.

Appointments

Ken Parliman as principal of SMS.

Robert Sawicki as assistant principal of SMS.

Debra Laczo as a part-time head cook at WSE.
