William E. Davies

William E. Davies, 82, of South Whitehall Township, died July 22, 2015, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

He and his wife Ella J. (Weber) Davies were married more than 48 years.

Born in W. Catasauqua, he was the son of the late George and Norma (Erdell) Davies.

Before retiring, he worked in various positions at Mack Trucks for more than 30 years.

From 1980-83, he also worked as a manager for MidLiner Operations; and from 1976-80, he was a manager for Off-Highway Operations.

During the Korean Conflict, he served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army.

He later entered Kutztown University, graduating in 1958 with a Bachelor's degree in education.

He was a member of Jordan-Martin Lodge 673, F.&A.M., Allentown, and American Legion Post 215, Catasauqua.

He was very fond of his grandsons and enjoyed playing golf for the Senior League at Allentown Municipal Golf Course.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Michelle M. Chambers and her husband, Scott, of N. Wildwood, N.J., brother David and his wife Rosemary of Blythewood, S.C.; sister Sandra Byrne of Hackettstown, N.J.; and grandsons Maxwell and Alexander.
