Carnival to be

held Aug. 28

The Allentown Corps Salvation Army will be holding its 11th annual Back to School Carnival Aug. 28, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., at 144 N. Eighth St., Allentown.

The Easton Corps Salvation Army will be hosting its first Back to School Carnival Aug. 28, 10:30 am. -noon, at 1110 Northampton St., Easton.

These events will provide children with the basic items necessary to achieve academic success, such as backpacks, pens, pencils and notebooks. Last year, more than 500 students from 43 different schools across the Lehigh Valley received supplies during the event.

The organization would like to thank Olympus, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the Junior League of the Lehigh Valley, the Allentown Kiwanis Club and PPL for their assistance with the 2015 events.
