An Emmaus High School student is among this year's National Merit Scholarship winners.

Lucy Q. Lin, of Macungie, will receive the National Merit Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Scholarship.

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is a coeducational technological university in New York.

Lin lists her probable career field as chemical engineering.
