Lowell T. Geiger, 79, formerly of Kempton, died Aug. 1, 2015, in the Phoebe Home, Allentown, where he was residing.
He was the husband of the late Mary A. (Snyder) Geiger.
Born Dec. 29, 1935, in Allentown, he was the son of the late Samuel J. and Carrie M. (Kohler) Geiger.
He was a production worker at Kraft Foods Inc., Fogelsville, before retiring in 1989.
Prior to that, he owned and operated the former Geiger's Texaco, New Smithville, for 16 years.
He was a member of Union Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schnecksville.
Having a passion for working the land, he enjoyed working with his fruit trees and harvesting potatoes and vegetables.
He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Kutztown Grundsau Lodsch.
In his younger days, he played the trombone with the Allentown Drum and Bugle Corps.
His survivors include children Michael T. Geiger and Shelly of Schnecksville, Susan E. Bell and Arlington of Allentown, Amy L. Tacker and Randy of New Tripoli, David P. Geiger and Vicky of Kutztown, Gregory L. Geiger and Sherry of New Tripoli; stepson John J. Stewart and Lori Weiss of Kempton; and 12 grandchildren.
