Fatal accident

A 54-year-old Emmaus woman was fatally injured July 29 in a traffic accident at the intersection of Chestnut Street and Cedar Crest Boulevard in Emmaus.

Laura Williams, of 143 Dell Street, was pronounced dead at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest Campus, Salisbury Township, 10:33 p.m. July 29, according to a press release from the Lehigh County Coroner's office.

The cause of death was found to be multiple blunt force injuries, Lehigh County Coroner Scott M. Grim said by telephone Aug. 3. An autopsy was done July 30. Grim determined the manner of death to be an accident.

According to authorities, Williams was operating a motorcycle at the time of the accident. The motorcycle collided with a truck at 4:02 p.m. in the intersection. The truck was described as a waste truck or hauler in published reports. Williams' injuries resulted from the collision, Grim said.
