A-Treat sodas to be back on shelves by early fall

In a refreshing move, David Jaindl has announced that the Jaindl Companies are acquiring the A-Treat soda brand name, trademark, flavor formulas and related intellectual property.

With production restored in Allentown in the coming weeks and distribution set for the end of August, customers will be able to find their favorite brand back on the shelves by early fall.

"Our ultimate goal is to keep as much of the production as possible right here in the Lehigh Valley. To do so, we have entered into a co-packing agreement with the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of the Lehigh Valley," said Jaindl. "It is our hope to retain as many former A-Treat employees as possible."

The customer has recognized a void in the marketplace ever since A-Treat abruptly shut its doors in January. Jaindl saw an opportunity to restore the nearly 100-year-old iconic brand back to its original luster.

"We are proud to add A-Treat to the Jaindl family of consumer products produced here in the Lehigh Valley," said David Jaindl, owner. "We see not only an opportunity to bring the brand back to the market, but back to life."

"Jaindl represents deeply rooted history and heritage in the Lehigh Valley and they are dedicated to serving our community, a mission synonymous with A-Treat. We are looking forward to working with the Jaindl's to assure a smooth transition as they grow and develop the brand," said Tom Garvey, former A-Treat president.

"We are pleased to be working with the Jaindl family to produce A-Treat products," said Joe Brake, general manager, Coca-Cola of the Lehigh Valley.

Leading grocers have already expressed interest in getting A-Treat back on their shelves as soon as its available. Grocers include Giant Food Stores (Lehigh Valley stores), Redner's Market, Aharts, Tanczos Beverage, Link Beverage and more.

Jaindl Companies span four generations. As a top national producer, the company is known for its integrated turkey production that includes breeding, hatching, growing and selling more than 750,000 Grand Champion turkeys each year; quality orchard produce, and for first-class residential, industrial and commercial land development and real estate. Jaindl's agriculture covers more than 12,000 acres of real estate and prime farmland in a four-county region
