Salisbury's playground program holds celebratory event

Salisbury Township held the annual playground day July 22 at Lindberg Park to celebrate another successful summer playground program.

The playground program was held June 17 through July 24 for township children who have completed kindergarten through age 12.

Each day 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday, children met at Green Acres, Lindberg, Devonshire and Laubach parks for arts and crafts, soccer clinics, planned weekly activities and unplanned outdoor fun.

Salisbury Township Recreation Director Genny Baillie coordinates the program each year.

Counselors this year included Shannon Pennella, Kaitlyn Kulp, Shaun Holben, Brad Satorius, Michael Miller, Aaron King, Kelly Garrigan, Jesse Long, Tyler Kuhns, Colette Miller, Chad Tocci, Brad Vangelli, Nicolas Ampietro, Kim Ringhoffer, Joseph Mercado, Alyssa Fox, Danielle Bartolucci and Melissa Kugler.

The head counselor was Patrick Jacoby.

Arts and crafts were coordinated by Alyssa Fox and Jacoby.

The Allentown Public Library book van toured the four parks to give children the opportunity to check out and return books.

At the annual playground day, children played games, enjoyed hot dogs and had plenty of opportunties to win prizes.
