Do you want to build a snowman out of sand? Join Santa, Olaf, Elsa and the Grinch as Lehigh Valley Zoo, Schnecksville, celebrates Christmas in July. Don't forget to sign up for Smart FUN summer camps at the zoo.

A day at summer camp includes animal encounters, zoo keeper talks, education presentations, games and nature crafts. The following camp categories are still available: Superman-imals, ages 4-5, July 27-31; Colors and Camouflage, ages 6-10, Aug. 10-14; Animal Grossology, ages 11-14, Aug. 3-7. Christ's Church at Lowhill will be hosting Vacation Bible School from 6-8:30 p.m., July 27-31. Children ages 4-12 will learn how "Jesus makes us courageous." Youngsters 3 and under are welcome to attend with an adult.

The five-day Camp Discovery will feature, weather permitting, one night outside for a camp fire, s'mores, scavenger hunts and water-balloon toss. Families are invited to join campers July 31 for an ice cream social. Monetary donations will be given to the food pantry to help families in need.

Christ's Church at Lowhill Food Pantry, 4695 Lowhill Church Road, will accept donations to stock shelves 9-11 a.m. July 25.

In preparation for the 2015-16 school year, the pantry is collecting backpacks and school supplies.

The following items are needed: backpacks, pencil pouches, regular and colored pencils, markers, crayons, glue sticks, binders, and tab dividers.

Supplies may be dropped off at both branches of New Tripoli Bank and at Essa Bank. Donations may also be made by appointment by calling 610-298-2054 or by calling Nancy Holbrook at 610-674-2440.

Volunteers are not on-site every day and donations in any form should not be dropped off at the door. Call before going to the pantry.
