PRESS PHOTO BY TIM SINGLES

Fire crews from Eastern and Western fire departments respond to a reported house fire in the 1500 block of Paxford Road 7 a.m. July 20. A neighbor saw smoke coming from a house down the street and immediately called Lehigh County 911. Salisbury police officers were first to arrive on the scene and reported a working house fire prompting Eastern Salisbury Fire Department Chief Dave Tomcics to request a second alarm assignment for additional manpower. ESFD made entry into the first floor of the home and quickly extinguished the majority of the fire. There were no injuries reported and the Salisbury fire inspector is investigating the cause of the fire.
