Cedar Crest College has been ranked 13th among the Top 40 women's colleges in the United States, making it one of only three Pennsylvania schools to be recognized by College Choice Magazine, an independent online publication dedicated to helping students and their families find the right college.
"When students need a breath of fresh air or fancy a brisk walk, they look no further than the campus itself, as Cedar Crest is home to the William F. Curtis Arboretum, a nationally registered arboretum with beautiful flowers and spectacular trees from all over the world," the magazine stated.
"Cedar Crest College in Allentown, Pa. is a mid-size women's college offering a handsome portfolio of undergraduate and graduate degree programs on a dazzling 84-acre campus," the magazine continued. "The school offers majors and minors in over thirty disciplines, among them the highly successful forensic science and nursing programs."
Cedar Crest President Carmen Twillie Ambar said the rankings confirm the college's commitment to its students and community: "We take great pride in providing an intimate, motivated environment where young women and adult students have the opportunity to achieve their educational goals, to truly get to learn from their instructors and to thrive in an atmosphere conducive to imparting the knowledge and skills they need to become leaders in their chosen fields."
Cedar Crest was recognized by U.S. News and World Report in September 2014, where it ranked fifth for value among liberal arts colleges in the northern United States and 16th in the Top Regional Liberal Arts College category in the magazine's annual college report.
