Lehigh Carbon Community College's (LCCC) workforce and training department has developed the Professional Attitude and Communication Training (PACT) program along with the City of Allentown and LCTI in response to the needs of managers and owners of emerging restaurants, hotels, supermarkets and retail businesses for professional employees in Allentown's Neighborhood Improvement Zone (NIZ).
The eight-hour pre-employment training class prepares applicants for employment in a highly-competitive, upscale environment. Outward appearance, comportment, communication skills, customer service skills and food safety handling are all addressed within these intense, comprehensive training sessions.
Three sections are being piloted for the summer and fall. Classes will run on a monthly basis in July, August and September at LCCC's Allentown Site, 718 Hamilton St. Daytime and evening classes are available. The City Center Initiative NPP has agreed to subsidize the first three sections of PACT in July, August and September.
Through LCCC's program, participants who have successfully completed the training and apply to Billy's Downtown Diner (Allentown), The Hamilton Kitchen, Shula's and Greenwood Hospitality are guaranteed interviews. These employers have endorsed the training and provided input into course content.
Interested individuals should contact LCCC's Job Training Coordinator Barbara Platt to enroll in the program and schedule an interview before being accepted into the training. Call 610-799-1582.
