Open invitation! A friendship hour on the porch of Heidelberg Church continues through the summer Sundays following the 8:30 a.m. UCC service.

Why not stay a bit longer and enjoy a little food with lots of fellowship?

To bake a batch of something sweet to eat, sign-up on the sheet in the narthex.

Well worth it! According to Heidelberg Church Soup Kitchen Coordinator Linda Hausamann, 185 hot meals were served recently to the hungry and homeless at the Allentown Soup Kitchen.

The meal consisted of chili, rice, tossed salad, applesauce, rolls, dessert and ice cream.

Thank you to Colleen Andrews for the homegrown lettuce from the church garden.

Special thanks also to the volunteers of the day: Pastor David Hess, Eleanor and Ron Klevenhagen, Arlan Hill, Robin Koch, Shirley Boger, Linda Hausamann and Howard Truitt.

"This is a rewarding experience to help the less fortunate," Hausamann said. "During the warm summer months, we serve many more adults and children who come for a good nourishing meal."

To those of you who are interested in helping at the soup kitchen, call Linda at 610-767-5281 or Howard at 610-682-4831.

Applications are being accepted for the fall craft show 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 8 at the Germansville Fire Company, Germansville.

There is a fee per table with two chairs.

There will be two floors with crafters, Chinese auction, 50/50 raffle, and food made by fire company volunteers.

Just a thought! Where you come from isn't as important as where you are going.
