Fourth grade students at Willow Lane Elementary School are among students statewide who participated in the Pennsylvania Trout in the Classroom program. According to Karen Durigan, who headed the project at WIllow Lane where she teaches fourth grade, 134 of the 206 fish survived to the recent release at the Willows Restaurant.
Mebam Tankwa, a student at Willow Lane Elementary School, is among students who helped raise and, eventually, release trout into the Little Lehigh Creek behind the Willows Restaurant. Tankwa helped test the water in the 65 gallon tank in the classroom. 'It was fun and kind of a difficult process,' Tankwa said.
