Crayola Factory visit is big hit for campers

Camp Cementon had a very exciting, yet short, second week.

On Monday morning, we played everyone's favorite games of dodgeball and wonderball. The pool was too cold for anyone to go in, which led to the children playing four square and ant tag all afternoon.

On Tuesday, campers tie-dyed shirts and watched a movie while it rained outside. The rain did not hinder the campers' built-up excitement for our trip to the Crayola Factory.

Wednesday was the big day for that, and Camp Cementon left bright and early for the Crayola Factory. While there, the campers were able to name their own crayon color and wrap them. They also played in virtual wax rain, created masterpieces with melted crayons, watched their own artwork come to life in 3-D and played in a glow-in-the-dark room.

Thursday was the last day for camp, due to the holiday weekend. On Thursday morning, all the campers played outside with chalk and basketballs.

The heat did not stop Camp Cementon. We played a popular game of Drip, Drip, Splash, which is like Duck, Duck, Goose but played with water-soaked sponges.

Due to last week's storm, the Cementon Pool was not open so we took a trip to Jefferson Pool.

Our Campers of the Week were Marcus and Melanie.
