It was another awesome week at Camp Jefferson! Week two was bursting with lots of laughs and excitement.
On Monday, we tried to stay active outside as much as possible because of the upcoming rain that was predicted for the week. The campers enjoyed Movie Mania, Fastest in the West and Capture the Flag before lunch. We then ended the day at the pool, which was very chilly, but the campers still dove right in.
On Tuesday, we went on our field trip to Planet Trog. The campers enjoyed some pizza and a couple games of laser tag! Sadly, our fun came to a halt when the giant storm came through, but overall, the day was very adventurous.
All this excitement made Wednesday morning a tad sleepy. Our campers spent most of the morning inside because it was still raining from the day before. We enjoyed a new game called Captain Says, which is a spin-off of Simon Says. We also enjoyed Night at the Museum and Battle Ball, which is always a crowd favorite.
As Thursday rolled around, our campers strolled in with their red, white and blue ensembles because of our America theme. We also completed our Fourth of July craft, Popsicle stick star streamers! The campers started by gluing together five craft sticks to create a star shape. For maximum stability, they added a dab of glue in all of the places where the craft sticks intersect one another. Once the glue completely dried, they placed their red, white and blue patterned ribbons on their star for decoration.
After the craft was complete, we played many more games, including Elbow Tag and Manhunt before heading to the pool.
With week two coming to a close, we announced Camp J-Street's Campers of the Week, Andrew and Dashia.
