SALISBURY TOWNSHIP POLICE DEPARTMENT Senior Patrol Officer Bryan Losagio receives Regional Top Gun Award

Salisbury Township Police Department Senior Patrol Officer Bryan Losagio was honored by the Lehigh Valley DUI Highway Safety Task Force during a presentation July 1 at the Southside Bethlehem Fire Station, Company #1, 419 E. Fourth St., Bethlehem.

Losagio received the Regional Top Gun Award in traffic safety. He had the highest number of citations in cities, boroughs and townships in both Lehigh and Northampton counties.

"At the Salisbury Township Police Department, it is our job to ensure the safety of all the motoring public who pass through Salisbury," Police Chief Allen Stiles said following the presentation.

"All of our officers are out on patrol every day looking for aggressive drivers who potentially could cause a tragic traffic crash. We issue many citations for traffic violations every year. Our goal is not to gain funds through traffic fines. Our goal is to ensure safety by being proactive in enforcement.

"I'm proud of Senior Patrol Officer Bryan Losagio's enforcement accomplishments. Bryan is a mentor to our younger officers and he has established a new precedent in traffic enforcement," Stiles said.

Losagio was also honored at a presentation at the Allentown Police Academy for his outstanding participation in the 2014 Aggressive Driving Enforcement and Education Project, a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation funded aggressive driving enforcement campaign.

Losagio said there has been a lot more traffic passing through Salisbury recently with the addition of the PPL Center, Sands Casino and IronPigs.

"It was nice to be recognized for my efforts," Losagio said. "At the end of the day, I was doing my job keeping Salisbury residents safe."
