State Police Beat

3 charged after

traffic stop

According to a police report received June 17, State Police Troop M Fogelsville say Thomas Joseph Dunn, 22, of Germansville; Christopher Allen Van Parys and Scott James Becker, both 19, of New Tripoli; were stopped 11:15 p.m. May 17 along Springhouse Road, in the area of Saw Mill Road, Lynn Township.

Police allege the vehicle they were in was traveling at an unsafe speed and the driver failed to stop at the direction of police.

Police allege two cases of Miller High Life beer was in the back seat of the vehicle.

Dunn allegedly purchased the beer for Van Parys and Becker, police say.

Police allege Van Parys had drug paraphernalia.

He also was cited with underage drinking.

Police say Dunn was charged with selling or furnishing liquor or malt or brewed beverages to minors before District Judge Rod Beck, Slatington.

Becker was charged with the purchase, consumption, possession or transportation of liquor or malt or brewed beverages, say police.
