Don't miss it! Heidelberg Union Church will have a traditional Independence Day worship service 10:15 a.m. July 5. All are welcome to attend.
During the service, there will be lots of patriotic music played and sung.
Following the service, there will be a light lunch and ice cream social.

Spread the word! Heidelberg Association of Retired Persons, better known as H.A.R.P, will meet 11 a.m. July 7 in fellowship hall for an indoor picnic.
Music will be provided by local songster Jack Snyder.
Bring a covered dish to share and a friend or two.
Hot dogs will be provided.

A century of service! On July 11, the Germansville Fire Company will celebrate its 100th anniversary with a wonderful parade and loads of festivities.
This huge celebration will be held rain or shine.
The parade will assemble 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in the Northwestern Lehigh High School parking lot.
At 2 p.m., vehicles and marchers will proceed from Northwest to Hunters Hill to Central roads ending at the fire department along Memorial Road.
A special ceremony and viewing of the cornerstone will take place at 4 p.m. along with honoring of Central Grange's 100th anniversary and Heidelberg Church's 275th anniversary.
There will be trophies awarded for marching groups, pumpers, tankers, antique apparatus and marching bands.
In addition to entertainment by the Rehrig Brothers Band 6:30-9 p.m. there will be historical, collectible and fire truck displays and souvenirs in addition to a variety of food, beverages and ice cream provided by the Bagel Bunch.
The fire company will also have T-shirts, mugs and commemorative coins for sale.
The evening will come to a close with a magnificent show of fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

Due to Memorial Road being closed during the fire company's 100th anniversary celebration, the public should use Bake Oven Road to access the fire station.
In addition to Central Grange 1650 and Heidelberg Union Church, having tables during the celebration the Lynn Heidelberg Historical Society and the Northwestern Lehigh Alumni Association will have tables at the event.
