The first week of camp was filled with lots of laughs and fun. Due to the annual Cementon Fair, both camps were combined for the week at Jefferson.
Every morning we would separate the two camps and play games and other activities. To get the campers acquainted, we played games where the objective was to understand everyone's names. Then later in the day, we played everyone's favorite game, dodgeball.
On Wednesday, we traveled a short distance down the road to Jordan Lanes for our weekly field trip. The kids and their counselors had an outstanding time bowling. Campers had fun and were more competitive than expected. Aryan D. had a high score of a 110!
On Friday, we made our craft, which consisted of a caterpillar magnet that the kids can place on their refrigerator at home. All you needed was a clothespin, magnet strips, small cotton balls and plastic googly eyes. At the end of the day, the campers got to take home their craft.
Every Friday, at the end of the day, the counselors choose one boy and one girl Camper of the Week award. This week's Campers of the Week went to Tanner Z. and Jade A. To receive Camper of the Week, you would need to show overall good behavior and to follow all the rules.
Summer kicked off to a great start for our first week of Camp Whitehall.
