John Erol Kocer spent his early years being afraid of God.

He played in a heavy metal band, wore his hair long and disheveled, and calls it "… a time of despondency, withdrawal and a reckless lifestyle.

"Then the hand of Love [Jesus] descended from above and wrapped His everlasting arms around me in a very beautiful way," Kocer said.

Now, after 30 years of studying the Word of God, he presents, in a variety of ways, what he calls the truth of God's love.

Kocer, of Northampton, is an attorney, author, speaker and recording artist who has been on TV and radio.

One of his visions is to share God's love in a way to motivate individuals to fulfill their holy callings.

He has spoken in churches and other venues expressing his intimacy with Jesus.

In his recent book titled "Acts of Love," Kocer encourages readers to become the very best they can.

Based upon the Book of Acts, he motivates readers to consider the inspirational insights contained within and to "act" upon them.

Kocer's first book, "Victorious Love," published by Tate Publishing in 2007, examines the Book of John I.

In this book, Kocer introduces the personification of Jesus Christ as the essence of victorious love.

Kocer recently had a book signing at Hava Java Cafe, Allentown.

Joe Mancuso and Michelle DeCrosta of Bethlehem, attended, and spoke to Kocer's ability and commitment as a Christian leader.

According to his followers, Kocer has a heart of compassion that wants all people to come into the family of Love and to walk in unity.

"Acts of Love" is dedicated to Kocer's father, his sister Rana, and his nephew, Shaun, "… who are now in heaven."

In 2008, Kocer's nephew, Shaun M. Buenzly, a 2003 graduate of Parkland High School, died at age 23, as a result of an automobile accident.

Kocer's CD, "Faithful," includes a track titled "Shaun's Flight to Freedom."

In addition to being a writer, John is a songwriter, guitarist and vocalist.

His music has been described as "… creating images that take the listener to places of a positive aura."

His lyrics are considered to be "… thought-provoking with a flair for poetic excellence."

A second CD, "Authenticity," also is available.

Kocer, who has also been involved in prison ministry, is an advocate for the poor as well as for animals.

"Love truly commands us to be compassionate towards all of His glorious creation," he explained.

His social media postings attest to the numerous causes for animal rights in which he is involved.

No longer involved in heavy metal, he is clean cut and sincere in his calling to all who open their hearts to Jesus.
