Allentown Central Catholic baccalaureate service honors God, graduates and their families

Allentown Central Catholic High School seniors, their families and friends celebrated a Baccalaureate Mass June 4 at St. Thomas More Church, Allentown.

The Rev. Allen J. Hoffa, chaplain at ACCHS, provided the homily.

Hoffa, who said this year's challenge to the seniors was the theme, "Behold, I Make All Things New," challenged the students to look at themselves and one another and think about how they could be made new.

"Class of 2015, you have done very well in the challenge," Hoffa said.

He said the students have excelled using their gifts in music, art, athletics, community service and faith.

Also at the Baccalaureate Mass, Dennis McCarthy, a 1981 ACCHS graduate, received the Distinguished Alumni Award from Principal Dennis Nemis.

Following the Mass, students and their families gathered on the lawn of St. Thomas More Church for photos.

Following the mass, the Rev. Allen J. Hoffa is surrounded by graduating seniors as he tries to take a picture with a selfie stick.
