Hello again! Heidelberg United Church of Christ, 5187 Irvin Road, Heidelberg Township, will have a friendship hour on the porch following the 8:30 a.m. service.
This hour of friendship will continue Sundays during the summer.
All are welcome to come out, visit on the porch and enjoy a special time of fellowship and food.
If you would like to host this gathering or bake something sweet to eat, list your name on the sigh-up sheet in the narthex.
Heidelberg Lutheran Church worship services now begin 10:15 a.m.
On Sept. 13, the time will change to 8:30 a.m.

Public is invited! Heidelberg Union Church will continue its 275th anniversary celebration 10:15 a.m. June 28 with a Civil War worship service.
Civil War experts Lisa and Craig Breneiser will share their knowledge on the Civil War and Heidelberg Church.

According to soup kitchen Assistant Coordinator Linda Hausa-mann, 164 hot meals were served recently to the hungry and homeless at the Allentown Soup Kitchen.
The meal consisted of steak, rice, tossed salad, applesauce and dessert.
Special thanks to the volunteers of the day: Doris and Richard Koenig, Eleanor and Ron Klevenhagen, Shirley Boger, Linda Hausa-mann and Howard Truitt.
"Thank you to all Heidelberg bakers who have baked every month since September of last year," says Hausamann.

Heidelberg Township Environmental Advisory Council is sponsoring a guest speaker 7 p.m. on July 14 in the Heidelberg Township Municipal Building, 6272 Route 309, New Tripoli.
Join the EAC for a discussion and PowerPoint presentation by Cathy Leiber.
She will discuss a program from Penn State addressing what homeowners need to do to certify their gardens or property as pollinator friendly.
The four-step process is aimed to get more residents to consider planting more pollinator-friendly flowers, shrubs and trees. Learn how to attract pollinators and ways to help prevent their demise.

A little Heidelberg humor! Before taking the old family car to college, my father loaded the trunk with soft-drink bottles filled with oil, coolant and transmission fluid.
Sure enough, my car overheated.
Scolding myself for not listening to my father's instructions, I looked at the engine and saw how well he knew me.
The oil cap was labeled Dr. Pepper, the transmission stick, Coke, and the empty coolant container, Diet Pepsi.
Thanks for the soda, Pop!
