Changes in the schedule of fees for Salisbury Township zoning applications have been approved.

A copy of the zoning ordinance book is $25. A zoning map is $5.

The Salisbury Township Board of Commissioners voted unanimously 5-0 to approve the fees at the June 11 meeting. Commissioner Joanne Ackerman moved to bring the resolution to a vote, seconded by Commissioner James Seagreaves.

The schedule of fees is in Chapter 1, Part 12, in the administrative and government services section of the Salisbury Township codified ordinances.

The fees, according to the resolution, "are intended to be reflective of the costs to Salisbury Township to provide reviews, inspections and services."

Cathy Bonaskiewich, Salisbury Township assistant manager-director of finance, who led the meeting in the absence of Township Manager Randy Soriano, told commissioners prior to the vote the approved fees reflect the "actual cost" of the services.

At the June 11 meeting, commissioners also voted 5-0 to approve:

-Change Orders 1 through 4 for the Lindberg Park Development Project. This includes a $179,914.02 deduction previously paid to expedite the project, and

- Payment No. 1 for the Lindberg Park Trail Project of $71,973.29, to Miller Brothers Construction, Inc., Schuylkill Haven, Schuylkill County.

In other business at the June 11 meeting, commissioners:

- By consensus approved a proposal by Salisbury Township Police Chief Allen W. Stiles to proceed with installing additional security measures at the township municipal building, including ballistic panels, at a cost of from $360-$80 per sheet, for three or four sheets, and window covers, at an unspecified cost. The latter was also expected to reduce heating and air conditioning use.

- Learned Stiles is applying for a Lehigh County grant for the proposed police department storage facility at the Eastern Salisbury Fire Company property.

- Lauded the work of Mike Sinko, the new township building maintenance person, who is presenting monthly reports concerning his work. "They obviously picked the right person for the job," Commissioners' President James A. Brown said.

- The township has been informed of the possibility of spraying for mosquitos by Lehigh County in the township. Additional information is expected to be included on the township website.

The June 11 meeting was held in the township public safety building conference room because of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning work at the municipal building.

Following the meeting, commissioners held an executive session to discuss personnel and legal matters, with no action taken following the session.
