Members of the Delaware-Lehigh Amateur Radio Club will be participating in the national amateur radio field day 24–hour exercise 2 p.m. June 27 and 28 at Louise Moore Park, Country Club Road, off Hecktown Road, Easton.
This event is open to the public and all are encouraged to attend.
Field Day demonstrates ham radio's ability to work reliably under any conditions from almost any location and create an independent communications network.
All persons, ages 8 to 80 plus who have any interest in radio communication for emergency preparedness, and/or Amateur Radio as a casual hobby are invited to attend this event and see the process in action.
A dedicated radio station will be available if anyone wishes to make radio transmission.
This is permitted when the activity is guided and overseen by an FCC licensed Amateur Radio Operator.
