Around 10:30 a.m. June 6, emergency crews are dispatched to Church Road and Emmaus Avenue for an accident. When Eastern Salisbury Fire Department firefighters arrived they found an SUV had struck a pole, snapping it in half. Witnesses reported the SUV had been swerving east- bound on Emmaus Avenue when it left the roadway, traveled through the Bulldog Beverage lot and struck a utility pole on Church Road. Firefighters/EMTs treated the driver until St. Luke's EMS arrived and transported the driver to a local hospital. Utility crews replaced the damaged pole.
