Phone Scams
Several residents and businesses reported receiving calls purported to be from the Internal Revenue Service claiming they owed money. Residents were referred to the local office of the IRS to confirm the calls were not legitimate. Police warn residents such phone scams are prevalent.
Theft
Reported by Lehigh Valley Hyundai, State Avenue, a dealer license plate was taken between May 23 and 26. The plate had been securely attached to a vehicle.
Reported by a resident of the 600 block of Chestnut Street, an unknown actor took a red lawnmower from the rear of the residence overnight May 26. The lawnmower is valued at $168.
Reported at 217 E. Harrison St., an unknown actor took a license plate from a vehicle between 1 and 1:30 p.m. May 28.
