The proud tradition of saluting Old Glory on Flag Day by the 108-year-old Allentown Flag Day Association will continue with a free patriotic concert by the Allentown Band 7 p.m. June 14 in West Park, 16th and Turner streets, Allentown.

In case of rain, the concert will be in the auditorium of William Allen High School, 106 N. 17th St.

The Bel Canto Children's Chorus of East Greenville, founded by and under the direction of Dr. Joy Hirokawa, assistant professor of music education at Moravian College, will perform.

After presentation of the colors by William Allen High School's Navy Junior ROTC cadets, under the leadership of U.S. Navy retired Chief Petty Officer Allen J. Rodriguez, , Old Glory will wave proudly to the selections of Allentown Band Conductor Ron Demkee, including John Philip Sousa's "Hail to the Spirit of Liberty" and "Stars and Stripes Forever;" Michael Kamen/Brubaker's "Band of Brothers;" and all veterans will be applauded during the "Armed Forces Salute" by Richard Hayman.

Soprano soloist Evelyn Stewart will enhance Hawley Ades's arrangement of "This is My Country" as well as Wilhousky's "Battle Hymn of the Republic" and "God Bless America."
