Student takes part in festival
Nailah Roberts of Allentown, was one of 140 students to participate in the University of Iowa's 11th annual spring undergraduate research festival.
The annual festival celebrates student contributions to research, scholarly, and creative work at the university.
Using posters or other visual displays, undergraduates showcased their work, either as an independent project or with a faculty mentor.
This event is hosted by the Iowa Center for Research by Undergraduates, which promotes undergraduate involvement in research and creative projects at the University of Iowa.

receives degree
Matthew Kosar graduated April 25 with a degree in rehabilitation sciences from the University of Pittsburgh.
He was a University Scholar in the top 2 percent in cumulative academic standing in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences.
He will be attending the University of Delaware to pursue a Doctorate of physical therapy degree. Kosar graduated from Parkland High School in 2011.
He is the son of Daniel and Cheryll Kosar.

The following graduates took center stage on May 16 for Elizabethtown College's 112th Commencement:
Allentown: Desiree M Yeager graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in early childhood education;
Breinigsville: Andrea Keller graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in early childhood education;
Kutztown: Ashley M. Landis graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry; and
Schnecksville: Hannah D Geiger graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.

Schnecksville resident Jamie Dawson, a Master's degree student in the Global Field Program from Miami University's Project Dragonfly, will travel to Kenya this summer. Dragonfly is in the biology department at Miami University, a state university in Oxford, Ohio.
Dawson will study Maasai communities and study sustainable approaches to human and wildlife coexistence.

Lebanon Valley College, Annville, has announced the names of local students who graduated this spring.
Allentown: Craig Miller, a graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School, received a Bachelor of Science degree in health science;
Fogelsville: Nathan Kleinschuster, a graduate of Northwestern Lehigh High School, received a Bachelor of Science degree in music education; and
Kutztown: Adam Rabenold a graduate of Kutztown Area High School, received a Bachelor of Science degree in music education.

on president's list
Erica Lee Reifinger of Allentown, has been named to the president's list for the spring 2015 semester at James Madison University, Harrisonburg, Va.
Students who earn president's list honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a grade point average of 3.900 or above.
Reifinger is a senior majoring in communication studies.
