LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

STUDENT OF THE WEEK

Q: What grade are you in?

A: I am in 12th grade at Emmaus High School.

Q: What is your favorite subject? Why?

A: Computer science. There are so many opportunities to make things never seen before and to change how the world and technology works and it can be connected and used in any field.

Q: Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A: Yes. I was MVP of the girls volleyball team junior and senior year; Under Amour All American Honorable Mention; LVIAC All-Star team junior year and EPC first team senior year; District First team senior year; All-State team junior and senior year; Coordinated Health Athlete of the Week, Oct. 14, 2014 and MaxPrep Player of the Week, Oct. 20, 2014.

Q: Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?

A: Yes. I am in girls volleyball; a manager of boys volleyball; a member of National Honor Society and National Language Society and I participate in computer science competitions with the school.

Q: What is your next goal after high school?

A: My goal is to attend Marist College to major in computer science and play Division One volleyball.

Q: What would you say your biggest challenge has been so far?

A: Having enough courage to be a girl and want to be a computer science major. The field is overwhelmingly dominated by males and it was scary to be one of, or sometimes the only girl in a class of 20 or so males.

Q: What do you want to be remembered for?

A: For being a good person, a great athlete and a student teachers enjoyed having.

Q: Who is in your family?

A: My parents are Jill and Geoff. I have two sisters, Taylor and Rileigh and we have three dogs, Isabelle, Carmel and Boomer.

Q: Do you have someone you look up to?

A: I look up to a lot of people; there's always something you can learn from somebody or wish you could do as good as they can.

Q: Do you have any advice for your peers?

A: Don't be afraid to do something others aren't simply because of fear.
