The concert at Emmaus High School recently was well received by a full house of parents, students and patrons. The orchestra members totaled 116 and participated in four different ensembles. The concert opened with the 99-piece string orchestra performing Beethoven's "Egmont Overture." The 20-member Emmaus High School Chamber Strings performed next, playing Aaron Copland's "Hoedown." The ensemble then increased in size to the 33-piece Emmaus High School Sinfonia Orchestra to perform "Mountain Spring" by Dean Marshall. The ensemble then became a full symphony orchestra with woodwinds, brass and percussion added, to perform selections from "Phantom of the Opera." Music teacher Connie Arnold conducted all of the ensembles.
