Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, will begin its summer worship schedule May 24.

There will be one service 9 a.m. each Sunday through Sept. 6.

There will be no Sunday School during the summer.

In celebration of Pentecost, the church will be decorated with red geraniums.

Rejoicing Spirits worship time for those with special needs and their caregivers will be 11 a.m. on the fourth Sunday of every month.

This all-inclusive, non-denominational worship and fellowship time enriches spiritual lives of participants while also providing an opportunity to socialize.

Union Lutheran Church will have a Memorial Day service in the cemetery at 9:30 a.m. on May 25.

In case of inclement weather, the program will take place inside the church.

On May 24, Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, will commemorate those who lost their lives serving their country.

Their names and military service will be posted on a display board for everyone to see.

The sanctuary of St. John's United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station will be decorated with geraniums for the Pentecost and Memorial Day service 10:15 a.m. May 24.

St. John's UCC will host an ALS fundraiser and basket raffle for Tracy Lloyd 7 p.m. on May 29, in fellowship hall.

The evening will include a screening of the 27-minute documentary film, "Hope on the Horizon," produced by HARK, a New Jersey ALS charity which raises money for affected families.

HARK provides a network of resources for those impacted by ALS.

All funds collected at the event will go directly to the Lloyd family.

The evening will include basket raffles and a bake sale.

The fundraising goal is to purchase a vehicle that is capable of lifting Tracy's 400 lb. wheelchair and which can travel her lengthy, inclined driveway.

She has not been able to leave her home for the past two winters.

The Walking Warriors will cook up a flapjack breakfast fundraiser from 8-10 a.m. May 30 at Applebee's, Cedar Crest Boulevard, South Whitehall.
