Supervisor candidates running unopposed

The candidates for supervisor in the four Northwestern Lehigh communities are all running unopposed on the Republican ticket in the May 19 primary and all are incumbents, presently serving on their township boards.

Heidelberg Twp

Heidelberg Township Supervisor David O. Fink is seeking his fourth, six-year term in office.

A life-long resident and farmer in the township, Fink is a graduate of Northwestern Lehigh High School and Delaware Valley College with a Bachelor of Science degree in animal husbandry.

A fourth-generation farmer, he manages Heidel Hollow Farm Inc., a family farm in Germansville producing hay products for export and local markets and direct marketing vegetables in the Lehigh Valley.

Fink says he is proud to serve in a rural community with such a rich heritage – a fire company that is celebrating its 100th anniversary in July and Heidelberg Union Church celebrating its 275th anniversary this year.

Weisenberg Twp

Supervisor Bob Milot is seeking his fourth term on the board.

A retired president of a trade school affiliated with Kaplan institute, Milot says right now things are going smoothly in Weisenberg.

"There is no pressure from developments and we have lowered taxes four different times," Milot told The Press. "There are three buildings in the industrial park and when replacement of the Route 863 bridge over I-78 is completed, more can go in."

Milot also mentioned the fact during his term in office, the township formed a fire company: the Weisenberg Township Volunteer Fire Company, which will have an open house 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on May 30, featuring special dignitaries, food, games a live burn demonstration and more.

Lynn Twp

Supervisor Brian Dietrich, a 1982 graduate of Northwestern Lehigh High School and Lehigh County Vocational Technical School, is seeking his second term in office.

A self-employed dairy farmer since graduation, he is in partnership with his brother, Bill, on Lynn-acres Farm.

He is a member in several local service organizations including the New Tripoli Fire Company, the Lehigh County Farm Bureau, Rural Preservation Association of Northwestern Lehigh County, and Lynn Heidelberg Historical Society.

"The biggest challenge facing our township is keeping property taxes low without compromising services to our residents," Dietrich says. "I feel we have accomplished this the last five years I have been in office, and if re- elected I would strive to continue that trend.

Lowhill Township

Supevisor Robb A. Werley was appointed to the Lowhill Board of Supervisors due to the illness of Supervisor Frank Dengler, who died Feb. 22, 2014.

"I'm pretty much a life-long resident of Lowhill Township, born and raised in the Leather Corner Post area," Werley emailed The Press.

A 1986 Northwestern Lehigh graduate, Werley earned a Bachelor of Science degree from The Pennsylvania State University in 1991.

Married almost 20 years, he and his wife have a daughter and a son, both attending Northwestern Middle School. A Pennsylvania licensed Realtor, he worked in the golf industry for 23 years, the last 17 as a consultant.
