School district hires 6 teachers for 2015-16
The Northampton Area School District Board of Education approved the hiring of six teachers at its May 4 meeting.
School directors voted 7-0, with two directors absent, to approve as recommended by the administration, the hiring of:
Joseph Svetecz, science teacher at Northampton Area High School, effective Aug. 24, at a salary of $51,339, with benefits;
Lauren Sniscak, mathematics teacher at Northampton Area High School, effective Aug. 24, at a salary of $46,050, with benefits;
Dorota Rossnagle, special education teacher at Northampton Area High School, effective Aug. 24, at a salary of $46,850, with benefits;
Scott Oste, science teacher at Northampton Area Middle School, effective Aug. 24, at a salary of $51,926, with benefits;
Candy Rosenbauer, reading specialist at Northampton Area Middle School, effective Aug. 24, at a salary of $54,654, with benefits; and
Marlise Kotrosits, special education teacher at Lehigh Elementary School, effective Aug. 24, at a salary of $50,107, with benefits.
School directors also voted 7-0 to approve:
The voluntary transfer of Gretchen Troxell from special education lead teacher to transitions coordinator at Northampton Area High School, effective Aug. 24;
Additions to the district volunteer master list for the 2014-15 school year: Chorus, John Albanese, Benjamin Bernhard, Brenda Evert, Christine Collo, Joseph Groller, Patricia Madurski, Amanda Ridinger, Edward Stauffer, Connie Vanblargan, Keith Weitknecht, and Band, Kay Unangst;
Additions and deletions to the substitute list for the 2014-15 school year;
List of student summer help, along with compensation rate of $7.25 per hour, effective for summer 2015; and
Attendance of Curt Dimmick, Stephen Serensits and Elizabeth Grammes at the PBIS Implementers' Forum, May 27, 28, Hershey, at an approximate cost of $992.37, which is included in the 2014-15 curriculum budget.
