Lehigh Valley Zoo, Scknecksville, will celebrate Endangered Species from May 15-17.

Administered by the U.S Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration since 2006, National Endangered Species Day is recognized on the third Friday in May and signifies the importance of protecting endangered species and their habitats.

A detailed schedule of events to inspire guests of all ages with engaging conservation-related activities is available at lvzoo.org.

World Turtle Day will be celebrated May 23, with events scheduled 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Join Lehigh Valley Zoo May 30-31 at "Step Outdoors Lehigh Valley" at Steelstacks, Bethlehem.

The two-day festival will feature zoo activities designed to engage guests of all ages in outdoor exploration and introduce attendees to the wide variety of nature and outdoors-related resources and organization thought the region.

Morgenland Union Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, is having its spring clean-up clothing drive.

Collection includes clothing, shoes, toys, fabric household items, and fashion accessories.

Books, VCR tapes, CDs, kitchen appliances and furniture will not be accepted.

Committee members ask donated items be bagged separately according to category. Items may be dropped off before and after Sunday services or anytime outside the sanctuary through June 21.

Christ's Church at Lowhill Food Pantry, 4695 Lowhill Church Road, will accept donations to stock shelves 9-11 a.m. May 19 and 30.

Donations may also be made by appointment by calling 610-298-2054 or by calling Nancy Holbrook at 610-674-2440.
