Jim Martin on ballot in May 19 primary

Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin, a Republican, is unchallenged in next Tuesday's primary election for his party's nomination for another four-year term in office.

Martin has been district attorney since January 1998 when he was appointed by Lehigh County Commissioners to succeed Judge Robert L. Steinberg.

He was elected to four-year terms in 1999, 2003, 2007 and 2011, and recently passed the late George J. Joseph as the longest serving district attorney in the county's history.

Martin graduated from Allentown Central Catholic High School and received a Bachelor's degree from Mount St. Mary's University, Maryland. He received his law degree from the Temple University School of Law.

He resides with his wife Patricia in Center Valley.
